de Heem project continues

deHeemStudy2.02.13.13This study, on a cradled panel, 8×10 inches, was painted with a limited palette consisting of Paynes Grey, cerulean blue, Venetian red, yellow ochre, cadmium lemon yellow and titanium white. In class I first made a pencil sketch of the image. Then painted. The limited palette serves as a tool to enable me to focus on the values in this complex composition.
