Memorial Day Weekend

Good news, the painting on the left is completed – not really looking quite as blue as this reproduction. Laraine’s work shows another approach to the same view. The bad news, the painting on the right is done for. Compositionally, a timeless promenade, painted near a favorite winter painting, an homage to Ann’s recent work and yet I just didn’t like my paint handling. I started to remove the paint with my palette knife and slit the canvas. Its ok, this painting just wasn’t me.
