homework 10.28

Oil on 10″square canvas. Hmmm, I remember this painting as less blue and purple.

I’m back to using an extensive (well, compared to a couple years ago) high key palette – lots of yellows from cad lemon through to deep cad, plus orange, indian yellow, cad reds including cad scarlet (used with cad green pale for skin tones frequently) Aliz Crimson, a couple quinacridones, dioxazine purple, sap green, viridian, and cad green pale, cobalt teal, cerulean blue, cobalt blue and ultramarine blue. The earth tones have been set aside while I’m doing Catherine’s class.

Spell check does nothing for chemical names. 😉

I’m using a box to keep the paints fresh – trying to get 2 sessions ( Thursday night class and Saturday am painting) before totally throwing out paint. I need to be careful though, my paint can get pretty yucky pretty fast (cat hair? my hair? oh, lets just blame the dog)
