October still life – let them eat cake

AngelFoodCake

While the grapefruit attracted several small fruit flies (where do they come from?) the cake slice (first a pound cake then angel food) was stolen twice. And yes, the dog seems more interested in the studio than previously. The teen too. Still lifes have their own challenges, quite different from Plein Air.

This is a 9×12 canvas. I may paint a bit more on this tomorrow night – the values are off on the grapefruit.

Fruit flies do seem to appear from thin air don’t they? Everyone knows that angelfood attracts little devils so it’s no wonder that disappeared. As for the pound cake well that’s a weighty problem I’ll have to think about.
