Plum Island Salt Marshes

Today was just stunning gorgeous – if this is global warming, bring it on  (of course I’m aware if it is 86 in April how hot will July be?) I did some carpe diem, grabbed the paints, the bike and the boys and went to a Massachusetts coastal wildlife refuge. The painting is OK – light shifted and I lost its drama, but its oil on birch panel 10 inches square with a limited palette: Titanium white, yellow ochre, venetian red, cerulean blue and paines grey. There were a pair of swans and when one swam into my scene I decided to include it – but it may be gone by tomorrow. Certainly didn’t expect the sunburn.

Brave of you to bring the boys along on your paint trip. Nice work!

Gee I don’t peek for a little while and you post three times. Stunning Carol, absolutely stunning. Love this one and the previous two paintings. I love all the others as well. I’m so impressed by your talent.
