This is nearly finished – just need to resolve the doorway woodwork and maybe revisit the feet again and, and, and what is finished?

terrific progress. you’re doing a great job of keeping the paint alive as you integrate a complex surface. have you checked out ian’s book about emphasizing or de-emphasizing areas of interest? the yellow fabric on the left is bright and cut off by the edge — what is that area doing to support the rest of the painting? take a look at Chardin who has a little scene in the background with a kitchen girl greeting a visitor at the door in a similar set of rooms. http://www.dl.ket.org/webmuseum/wm/paint/auth/chardin/market.jpg

thanks for showing your work! it’s great that you are sustaining this piece over such a long time.
