Exploring Mount Auburn Cemetery

MtAuburnMonumentsWay too much to see, to paint at Mount Auburn Cemetery. ( a National Landmark Victorian garden style cemetery 175 acres with ponds and fountains). This is Saturday, the 15th, afternoon’s work – needs another day to complete – what is successful about this so far is a sense of depth. I do want to develop the trees to the left in the foreground and further define the monuments.

I meet with two women from this summer’s painting workshop – good time and good painting was had.

Buffy fans – yes, I did jump every time I heard a noise behind me.

What a creepy cemetery! I did like the big monument though. Actually, I like cemeteries, but not ones that are full of deep, dark trees. They are more like those teen murder movies, ewwww.
